Antakya Museum Hotel

Project Description

Project started as a five-star hotel but significant archaeological artifacts were found as soon as excavation began. The double nature of the project, combining a hotel and a museum, became the driven force, as were the ancient ruins. Rather than a compact volume, individual programmatic elements spread across the site under protective canopy. The precise location of the archaeological findings dictated the complex process of locating supporting columns for the elevated structure. Project includes stick system curtain walls, conventional windows, metal and ceramic cladding.

Services

LB Enclosures provided material applications, design development, construction documents, procurement and construction administration of all facade elements including glass curtain wall, metal cladding, glass handrails.
