Phoenix Art Museum

Project Description

The original architecture team was retained for the large expansion with similar architectural themes. One of the most stunning design components of the expansion is the lobby with a large cantilevered roof and highly transparent high span glass wall. The glass is unsupported along the vertical joints which required a heavy glass make-up of three plies of ½” low iron glass 6′ wide and 15’6″ tall. The corner detail included staggering the plies to avoid an unsightly joint while concealing the glass interlayer.

Services

LB Enclosures provided facade consulting, including material applications of glass, aluminum, zinc and bronze facade elements.
